How to enter

After 31 years, you should know by now, but there are a few changes this year, so read on. We want to make it as simple as possible for you to enter, but we’re sure you’ll understand we need to be rigorous in our approach; otherwise the awards wouldn’t be so prestigious.

2011 CIPD Recruitment Marketing Awards
What to submit 2011

Entries are now closed.


Each entry costs £115 (plus VAT), which must be paid when you submit your entry.

Categories 1-10

Please submit one pdf file containing a digital copy of your work (with maximum file size of 6MB) and a 200 word (max) overview of the results it achieved.

You will be marked on your entry's concept, execution and its effectiveness. Please provide adequate information on each of these areas for the judges to mark.


11. Best employer brand

Please provide relevant artwork and a written submission covering the following:

1. The background (300 words)

How have you worked to ensure you have the right tone of voice and are true to the marketing department’s overall brand positioning?

2. The brand (300 words)

Does the employer brand resonate throughout the organisation and its employees? Can you demonstrate the brand has internal validity beyond the creative output?

3. The work (300 words)

How has the thinking manifested itself as a set of marketing materials? Do they fit in with the organisation and would they change or enhance perceptions? Are they original and do they show real flair and creative thinking?

4. The results

Was the brand successful and did it meet expectations? Please present demonstrable results.

12. Recruitment effectiveness award

Please provide relevant artwork and a written submission covering the following:

1. The strategy (300 words)

How was the strategy aligned with the objectives of the business so that a successful outcome was reached? Outline any specific challenges that were faced along the way.

2. The delivery (300 words)

How did you ensure the process delivered efficiently whilst maintaining quality?

3. Measurement (300 words)

How was the candidate experience and response measured and did it have any impact on the work throughout the course of the project?

4. The results (300 words)

Was the project successful and did it meet expectation? Clear results outlining the cost and hires are essential.

13.  Diversity award

Please provide relevant artwork and a written submission covering the following:

1. The background (300 words)

What does Diversity mean to you in the context of this work and how is that demonstrated?

2. The strategy (300 words)

What did you seek to change and why?

3. The results (300 words)

How have you made a difference? What evidence can you produce to support your claims, in either short or long-term results?

4. The future (300 words)

In an ever changing and ongoing process, how do you intend to continue your initiatives going forward?

14. Agency of the year

Please provide relevant artwork and a written submission covering the following:

  • Examples of creative work for three different clients
  • Evidence of the effectiveness of the above initiatives/campaigns. How did it achieve the clients’ objectives? (1,000 words)
  • Client list (including length of relationships and extent of work carried out), highlighting any accounts retained or won since April 2010
  • Please provide client testimonials and the contact details of two clients/referees who we could contact
  • What makes you different? Why do you deserve to be crowned Recruitment Agency of the Year 2011? (500 words)
  • Agency turnover comparison for financial year 2009-10 versus 2010-11
  • Please include evidence of how you operate in line with best practice
  • Redactive Events Ltd and the CIPD reserves the right to check the financial status of entrants

Rules of Entry

1. Entries are accepted from employers and recruitment marketing agencies, across all categories.

2. Service providers – consultants, public relations agencies, etc – may assist in compiling entries, but they CANNOT submit these on behalf of clients.

3. Only projects or initiatives carried out since April 2010 are eligible; the judges will expect entries to be contemporary

4. Each unique entry can only be considered in one category. The same project may be entered in multiple categories but a bespoke entry must be written to meet the individual criteria of each category.
